MANSFIELD – Judi French, a justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio, sat down to lunch with members of the Kiwanis Club Thursday afternoon to get to know members of the Mansfield community and host a Q&A about the behind-the-scenes of the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Justice French became a justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio in January of 2013 and was elected to her first full term in 2014. She has traveled to each of Ohio’s 88 counties many times, speaking at schools and clubs to de-mystify the Supreme Court of Ohio and what goes on behind the scenes.

“It really gives me an opportunity to answer questions for people. I think a lot of people think of the Supreme Court as a little mysterious,” French said. “They don’t really know what we do and why it matters to them, so this gives me an opportunity to explain all that… it gives me an opportunity to come in and learn a little bit more about the communities around Ohio.”

The lunch, hosted at DLX Catering in downtown Mansfield, was followed by regular club meeting announcements and then Justice French’s speech, where she answered questions from the crowd.
